Why did my pilot light go out?

If your pilot light went out, it could be due to a draft, a dirty thermocouple, a faulty gas valve, or insufficient gas supply. First, make sure you don’t smell gas. If everything seems safe, try relighting it following the instructions on your water heater. If it won’t stay lit or keeps going out, the thermocouple may need cleaning or replacement or you may need to have the gas valve on your water heater replaced. Some water heater models are known for issues with their gas valves. You can search online to see if your water heater model is one of them.

I bought an existing home 5 years ago. I have fought plumbing issues the entire 5 years. Today Aaron Plumbing installed a new hot water heater and I believe it has fixed all the issues I experienced.
