Aaron Services Alexa Skill – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Aaron Services Alexa Skill (“the Skill”) collects, uses, and protects information when you interact with it using Amazon Alexa–enabled devices. This policy applies only to the Alexa Skill and does not cover any other Aaron Services websites, apps, or services.

1. Information the Skill Collects

The Skill itself does not collect or store any personal information.
When you speak to Alexa, Amazon provides the Skill with:

  • The text of your spoken request (for example: “My AC is not cooling”)
  • Your Amazon-generated user ID (a random identifier, not your name or email)
  • Device information such as device type and locale

We do not receive:

  • Your name
  • Your physical address
  • Your phone number
  • Your Alexa voice recordings
  • Any Amazon account details

All voice recordings and transcription storage are handled solely by Amazon according to their policies.

2. How We Use Information

The Aaron Services Alexa Skill uses your request only to:

  • Provide troubleshooting information
  • Deliver maintenance tips
  • Look up service areas
  • Respond to questions from our WordPress knowledge base
  • Present current specials
  • Provide contact options if you choose to schedule a service

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties.

We do not perform user profiling or targeted advertising.

No booking occurs inside the skill

If you choose to request service, the Skill will instruct you to call our office or visit our website. The Skill does not collect appointment details, addresses, or personal information.

3. Data Storage

The Skill does not store any user data on our servers.
Your requests are processed in real time by AWS Lambda and then discarded.

Any information Amazon provides temporarily during the session is used only to generate a response.

4. Third-Party Services

The Skill uses:

  • Amazon Alexa for voice processing
  • AWS Lambda to run the Skill
  • WordPress API (read-only) to retrieve troubleshooting answers and specials

No personal information is shared with WordPress or stored in WordPress.

5. Children’s Privacy

The Skill is not directed toward children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6. Security

Although the Skill does not store personal data, all API calls occur over encrypted HTTPS connections.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
