Weโ€™ve been solving sewer issues since 1978, and our five star service is proven with thousands of stellar reviews.

Collection of Sewer and Drain Cleaning Tools

We utilize advanced tools and technology to diagnose and solve your sewer issues quickly and effectively:

  • Sewer Cameras: Our sewer cameras provide a clear, detailed look inside your pipes, allowing us to accurately pinpoint the location of blockages, cracks, or other damage. This technology helps us diagnose the issue quickly without unnecessary digging or guesswork.
  • Locators: Itโ€™s not enough to just know what the problem is. If you have a broken drain line or a belly in your sewer, our locating technology will determine where the problem is and how deep the line is at that spot. This will affect our plans to repair, as different depth levels require different access and excavation strategies.
  • Hydro Jetters: Hydro jetters are powerful tools that use high-pressure water to blast away tough clogs, debris, and even tree roots. Sometimes a spot repair isnโ€™t an option, or maybe itโ€™s not the only option. Drain jetting can be an effective solution for clearing out blockages and restoring proper flow in your pipes.
  • Drain Cleaning Sewer Machines: To clear a main drain, we generally start with a sewer machine. This equipment can clear a soft clog, or open a hole in a more significant clog, to drain the water from the sewer line. Once the water has drained, weโ€™re able to use our sewer cameras to take a look at your drain line and determine what caused your clog.
  • High Torque Descaling Tools: Traditional sewer machines can poke holes in clogs, and sometimes the pressure from a restored flow can clear a sewer line. Other times, a more advanced machine is necessary to properly clear a line. Our specialized equipment can descale deteriorating cast iron, clean pipes lined and clogged with grease, and remove some roots that have grown into a broken sewer line.
  • Relining Technology: Relining allows us to reinforce damaged pipes without the need for a full replacement. By creating a new lining inside the existing pipe, we can restore functionality and extend the life of your sewer system with minimal disruption. Weโ€™ll start with a camera assessment to determine whether pipe relining is an option for you.
  • Excavators: When you need a sewer repair or replacement, you need an excavator. We own our excavation equipment because we complete sewer line repairs and replacements frequently. This allows us to be economical and efficient with our sewer work. This equipment allows us to handle large-scale repairs efficiently and safely, ensuring a lasting solution for your drainage system.
  • Shoring: We take safety seriously. If the trench required to reach your sewer line is over a particular depth, we have the safety equipment to ensure that the work is completely safely for all involved.

Common Sewer Problems and Solutions

Roots in Sewer

Roots know how to find water. In the summer or during periods of drought, roots will grow into drain pipes. If a sewer line has a crack or break (generally from age or ground settling), roots from nearby shrubs or trees will penetrate that opening and grow inside the drain pipe. These roots cause major blockages. We offer solutions like hydro jetting, specialized drain cleaning, and repairs to eliminate roots and restore flow. Most of the time these roots have gained access through a crack or break in the sewer pipe. Sometimes you can buy yourself time with jetting or drain cleaning, but to avoid future back ups (and paying for repeated drain cleaning), most customers choose to have their drain lines repaired.

When a drain line is too full of roots, you may need more than simple drain cleaning

Old Piping Materials

Cast Iron Pipes

This type of pipe is common in homes built before the 1970s and is known for its durability. Unfortunately, cast iron corrodes over time, as its constant exposure to moisture causes it to rust and wear down. As this pipe ages, it becomes very rough inside, which slows the flow of waste inside the pipes. Over time, grease and solids can build up through the pipe. The pipe can also simply wear away โ€“ weโ€™ve replaced cast iron sewer lines that simply have no bottom in the pipe (with waste seeping into the ground below instead). Cast iron pipes are heavy, magnetic, and dark-colored. If damaged, replacement or relining is often needed.

Terra Cotta Pipes

Used in older homes, these clay-based pipes are brittle and prone to cracking. Easily identified by their reddish-brown color, they often fall victim to root intrusion. Replacement is typically recommended, as this type of pipe crumbles with age.

Improper Fall or Belly in Sewer Line

Gravity is the friend of the sewer line. Drain lines have to have the proper โ€œfallโ€ in order for waste water to properly flow through them. When soil shifts below a sewer line, it can develop a belly, or dip, where water and waste pools. Over time, this accrues into a clog, which eventually leads to sewer water backing up into your home. To solve this problem, we need to access the sewer line and replace the section of pipe where the integrity has been compromised.

Broken Sewer Line

A broken sewer line caused problems that drain cleaning alone couldn't fix. We replaced this section of drain pipe.

Did you know that weather can affect your sewer line? When we experience large amounts of rain or drought, or especially when we transition from one to the other, the ground around (and under) our homes shifts and settles. As a result, this subtle movement can lead to sewer lines breaking or cracking. A broken sewer line can interrupt proper flow within a drain line, which can lead to repeated clogging or back ups. If your main drain is broken, youโ€™ll need a repair to avoid future problems. Our experienced technicians can use our specialized equipment to see and locate the compromised area of pipe, and then access it in a way to minimize your damage and cost.

Complex Drain Cleaning Challenges

Oftentimes homeowners will have more than one problem with their sewer or drain line. As a pipe ages, it ages throughout the line, not just in one spot. So if a pipe sags, or has a belly in one place, itโ€™s very possible thereโ€™s another belly farther down the line. Our technology can identify these issues for lasting solutions. Similarly, often cracks or breaks in drain lines lead to those drains becoming full of roots. While we have the technology to clear roots from a sewer line, without repairing the broken section of pipe, the roots (and back ups) will be right back. We often see more than one problem on a clogged main drain.

Malfunctioning Sewage Ejector Pumps

Sewage ejector pumps, which handle wastewater, are often confused with sump pumps. Sewage ejector pumps pump waste water, often from basement bathrooms or kitchens, up to street level for proper drainage. Sump pumps do the same, but with rainwater. We are able to help with sewage ejector pumps and sump pumps. Sewage ejector pumps can fail due to age, improper materials like wipes being flushed or installation issues. We handle repairs and replacements for both ejector and sump pumps.

Is a Sewer Line Repair or Drain Cleaning Covered by Insurance?

As with most homeowners insurance questions, the answer is: It depends. In our experience, when the issue is outside the home, insurance companies might not cover the repair. Sometimes, though, weโ€™ve found some policies do cover accessing the sewer pipe and restoring the area when the pipe is inside the home. This is another example of why itโ€™s so important to contact an experienced sewer line repair company. Youโ€™ll want a thorough inspection of your drain pipe because even though you may have an issue further down your sewer line, outside the home, itโ€™s common to have more than one problem with your drains. (Think about it: we donโ€™t just age in one spot in our bodies โ€“ your sewer line is no different!) Weโ€™ve worked with thousands of homeowners and their insurance companies. We are able to answer adjustersโ€™ questions and guide customers through the homeownerโ€™s insurance process.
